Each divan set is made to exacting standards using the finest materials to create a sumptuous product. The 5′ mattress has a traditional hair pad over the 1400 pocket springs. Horse hair was always used historically as it was so resilient. Then there is a layer of wool and two layers of a Pure new wool, silk and cashmere mix along with two layers of poly cotton. The natural fibres allow the bed to “breath” and offer warmth in winter and yet are still cool in summer, unlike a lot of beds which use man-made fibres which can be a bit “sweaty”. All hand made with each individual spring nested in its own cloth pocket for maximum support and comfort. The mattresses are then hand side-stitched for maximum support and the bases also have their own pocket springs.
